CAMELLA METRO VIGAN: THE COMFORT OF THE PRESENT

Homes standing in the past and facing the future – that’s the unique air of community that will rise in a neighborhood called Camella Metro Vigan. When Camella launches the project on Thursday, June 28, a page in the history of that part of Ilocos Sur will be written – for that will be the first modern residential community that will rise in that area known for the centuries-old houses declared as a World Heritage Sight.

Like a play on the concept of time, Camella will build a Spanish-themed community reflecting the Old World charm of Vigan – with the modern designs and amenities that people expect in the present time, while they are preparing for the future.

Camella, with 37 years of experience, comes prepared to create this extraordinary air of community. Camella, a subsidiary catering to the mid-market segment of Vista Land & Lifescapes, has built many themed communities around the country. Each of the communities carry Vista Land’s expertise in space planning, well-designed structures, and ideal locations.

If numbers impress you – Camella has built more than 250,000 homes and maintains a powerful presence in Metro Manila and in 56 cities and municipalities, through Communities Philippines, the marketing and corporate organization of Vista Land for residential properties outside Metro Manila.

The new Camella community sprawls on a 15-hectare property in Barangay Cabaroan in the municipality of Bantay, which shares a boundary with Vigan, crossing the Govantes River. In that part of the country, city boundaries

are almost invisible because accessibility and extended families connect neighborhoods. Thus, living across the river may put one in another town, but still be part of Vigan because worship and leisure are done in St. Paul’s Cathedral and the nearby Calle Crisologo and Plaridel Street where the old Spanish houses stand shoulder-to-shoulder – keeping the past from fading.

At Camella Metro Vigan, while the past is honored by the strong details that support the Spanish-theme community, the present is given attention to give residents the comfort of living well.

First, its location brings to mind the old town where all significant structures stood by the National Highway. The gate of Camella Metro Vigan is along that highway, which also leads to Bantay East, Old St. Paul College, Divine World College, Ilocos Sur Community College, the University of Northern Philippines, Vigan Central School, Burgos Memorial School, and Sta. Catalina.

For medical attention, the Lahos Hospital and the Metro Vigan Coop Hospital are near. And for business concerns, within the area are the government centers, banks, public markets, and the restaurants.

Inside Camella Metro Vigan is a community that is designed for modern comfort – and aesthetics. The wide roads will be landscaped with greens and water elements. There will be miniature parks, a swimming pool, basketball court, playground, and pathways for a walk or a fitness run.

A Clubhouse will nurture community spirit and socialization. The community will be kept secured by a gated entrance, perimeter fence, well-lighted streets and roving security guards.

Three model-houses will keep the theme going – the Lessadra Series for start-up families; the Camella Series for growing families; and the Crown Series for those who are moving-up.

Each house will of course have with the high quality standard that comes with the reputation established by Camella’s long history in the real estate industry.

In the past months, Camella has been opening communities in the provinces, bringing the company’s master-planned theme concepts and modern amenities.

They have opened in Palawan, now a tourist haven after the Underground River was declared a New 7 Wonders of Nature site. Camella communities recently also broke ground in Candon, about an hour from Vigan, and in Bohol. “By expanding massively in the North, we like to think that we are keeping our promise to Filipino families: That is to build a home for every Filipino,” said the head-of-operations for Northern Luzon, Engr. Dante M. Julongbayan. “With our presence from Bulacan up to Tuguegarao, Camella is dominating the North and there’s no sign of slowing down. We fully intend to maintain this dominance. We owe it to every hard-working Filipino.”
